Using Food for Your Marriage Proposal: A Do or A Don’t?

Finding a surprise in your food isn’t necessarily the greatest thing, but hiding something as precious as an engagement ring in an edible item can be a ‘Do’ if done right.  Here are a few ideas and tips for surprising your loved one in a good way.

1. Hide it in a chocolate ring box.  Many chocolatiers can make a custom chocolate box to hide the brilliant engagement ring in.  After your partner finds the ring in the chocolate box they will have a tasty treat to enjoy without the fear of swallowing their surprise.

2. Don’t bury it in food.  Hiding an engagement ring in the middle of a cake may sound like a cute idea, but your grand idea could quickly turn south if your loved one were to accidentally swallow the ring.  Try placing the ring on top of beautifully frosted cupcake instead.

3. Propose with a fortune cookie.  While there are ways to place the ring in a fortune cookie, it’s safer and more creative to create a personalized message that will be in the fortune cookie.  After your loved one reads the message then you can present the ring and pop the question.
